A classic summer dish, garidomakaronada is a light yet flavorful pasta meal, perfect for enjoying by the sea. Quick, easy, and bursting with Mediterranean flavors!
Ingredients
- 300g shrimps, cleaned
- 1 onion, minced
- 1 green pepper, sliced
- 3-4 ripe tomatoes (or canned), pureed
- 500g spaghetti
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Olive oil & parsley
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti in salted water, drain, toss with olive oil, and set aside.
- In a low casserole, heat olive oil and sauté the onion and green pepper for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the shrimps and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the pureed tomatoes, season with salt, pepper, and parsley, and add 1/2 cup of water.
- Cover and simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Serve the spaghetti topped with the shrimp sauce. Enjoy!
Serving Tips & Variations
- Garnish with fresh basil or a pinch of chili flakes for extra flavor.
- For a richer taste, deglaze with a splash of ouzo or white wine before adding the tomatoes.
