Roasted Chestnuts in the Ninja Crispi (Easy & Foolproof)

For this Ninja Crispi recipe, I went for a seasonal classic: roasted chestnuts. I usually enjoy them during Christmas vacations, bought hot from open markets, their warm paper cones and that unmistakable winter smell in the air. I don’t normally make chestnuts at home, but I was curious to try them in the Ninja Crispi.

And it felt a little magical. The chestnuts come out tender and perfectly roasted — no ashes, no smoke, just clean, comforting warmth. A small winter pleasure you can now enjoy anytime, not only during the holidays.

Ingredients

Fresh chestnuts

Instructions

  1. (Optional) Soak the chestnuts in warm salty water for about 20–30 minutes, then drain well. This helps them cook evenly and stay moist inside.
  2. Wash the chestnuts and cut a deep cross on the flat side of each one.
  3. Preheat the Ninja Crispi on Air flry mode at 200 °C (390 °F).
  4. Place the chestnuts in the basket in a single layer.
  5. Cook for 15–18 minutes, shaking the basket once halfway. If your chestnuts are very large, they may need 2–3 extra minutes.
  6. Wrap the hot chestnuts in a clean kitchen towel for 5 minutes.
  7. Peel while still warm — both the hard shell and inner skin will come off much more easily.
