These juicy Greek-style burgers, or biftekia, are packed with Mediterranean flavors. Perfect for a homemade meal, they can be grilled, pan-fried, or baked for an easy and delicious dish.
Ingredients
- 700g ground beef (or beef & pork mix)
- 1 onion, finely grated
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ cup breadcrumbs, or an equal amount of bread soaked in water or milk and well squeezed to remove excess moisture
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- 1 tbsp chopped mint
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tbsp mustard (optional)
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix all ingredients until well combined. Let the mixture rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Shape into burger patties, wetting your hands occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Cook on a grill, pan, or in the oven at 200°C (fan) for 20 minutes, flipping halfway. Adjust time depending on thickness.
- Serve with salad, pita, or fries.
Serving Tips & Variations
Pair with tzatziki, grilled vegetables and lemony potato salad or a fresh green salad.
