Semolina Pudding (Halvas) yummy!

A quick, affordable, and incredibly delicious sweet that fills your home with the warm aroma of cinnamon. This pudding is a heartwarming treat that brings people together.

Ingredients:

ยท       1 1/2 cups semolina (medium-grated)
1/2 cup sunflower oil
Optional: nuts, almonds, raisins

Syrup:

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Syrup: Boil water, sugar, honey, lemon zest, cinnamon stick, and ground cinnamon for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
  2. Fry the Semolina: Heat oil in a pan for 2-3 minutes. Add semolina and stir constantly until golden.
  3. Combine: Gradually add semolina to the hot syrup, one spoonful at a time. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Cook: Return to medium heat, stirring constantly until most of the liquid is absorbed and the pudding thickens (5-10 minutes).
  5. Rest: Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  6. Serve: Transfer to a cake mold, cool completely, and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Tips & Variations:

Stir in nuts or dried fruits for extra flavor. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
