Coconut "Ravani"

Ok, a difficult day for me (2 of may) has passed and life gets it's rhythm again. So, what's best than trying my favorite Greek cake? Coconut "Ravani" or Coconut semolina moist cake :)
Do you remember the recipe for ravani? If not, time to revise it ...
Find today a slightly different version that is one of my favorite Greek cakes with flaked coconut.

Greek Custard Phyllo Pastry (Galatopita)

Galatopita is a traditional Greek milk pie with a rich custard filling and a golden, crisp top. I make mine with phyllo, like an uncovered Bougatsa, for the perfect crunch-to-cream balance. 

Kids love it—mine always sneak warm custard with cinnamon while they wait for the pie!

Want to try a pie that have the looks, it's easy, tasty and practical? Then, pasta flora/frola is for you :)

I explain myself. According to your artistic talent, it can be gorgeous. It takes only few minutes to prepare. It's tasty as you can adapt it to your preferences. Finally, is practical, as it can be used for breakfast accompanied of a yoghurt, and your favorite drink (coffee, tea, juice, ...). I would even dare to consider it healthier than a simple cake. For my friend Lina today!

So, here it is the recipe with photos of my apple pie (it's the most common apple pie in Greece actually :) done with the precious help of my dear daughter who has done also the design (her specialty :)
Special tributes to my mother that was doing this cake since I can remember myself and my friend Ria that reminded it to me.
