A comforting Greek favorite: tender chicken simmered in a rich tomato sauce, with spaghetti cooked directly in the sauce for maximum flavor! Simple, delicious, and perfect for the whole family!
Ingredients
- 4 chicken legs
- 500g spaghetti
- 4 ripe tomatoes (or 1 can tomato sauce)
- Olive oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pan, heat olive oil and fry the chicken until golden brown.
- Add the tomato sauce and enough water to cover the chicken.
- Season with salt and pepper, cover, and simmer for about 45 minutes.
- Remove the chicken and set aside.
- Add the spaghetti directly into the sauce, along with a little extra water if needed. Cook until al dente, stirring occasionally.
- Return the chicken to the pan or serve on top of the spaghetti. Pour extra sauce over and enjoy!
Serving Tips & Variations
- Sprinkle with grated cheese like kefalotyri or parmesan.
- Add a cinnamon stick to the sauce for extra depth of flavor.
