Top Greek Recipes to Try First from Vivian is Cooking GREEK

If you recently got my cookbook Vivian is Cooking GREEK, first of all… thank you so much for supporting my work ๐Ÿ’™

After sharing my recipes online for more than 13 years, creating this cookbook has truly been a special journey for me. Every recipe inside has been tested many times in my own kitchen and shared with family, friends, students, blog readers — and now with all of you around the world.

Many readers ask me: “Which recipes should I try first?” So here are the ones I personally recommend starting with...

Vivian is Baking – Final Table of Contents Revealed!

After months of testing, refining, and organizing, I’m so happy to finally share the full table of contents of my upcoming cookbook: Vivian is Cooking: Baking At Home.

This book is a true sweet journey, bringing together my Greek roots, European classics, and everyday baking. All in all, 50 recipes I truly love making again and again ๐Ÿ’›

With so many recipes online today and even AI-generated ones, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure what actually works. With this book, I wanted to create a trusted, curated collection: recipes that are tested, simplified, and consistent, so you can bake with confidence. No noise, no uncertainty — just real recipes that deliver real results.

Now I’m entering the refinement phase, working on all the final details and the publishing process, which I’m doing entirely on my own.

I hope this will be the final version… although I might still make a few small changes along the way ๐Ÿ˜‰

Two Greek Recipes You Won’t Find in My Cookbook… Yet

When I created my Greek recipe book "Vivian is Cooking GREEK", I focused on recipes I had already made and tested for years. Later, I realized two important classics were missing: Lahanodolmades and Kadaifi.

Both are now available here on the blog:

๐Ÿฅฌ Lahanodolmades – tender cabbage rolls filled with a flavorful mixture.

๐Ÿฏ Kadaifi – the classic crispy, nutty, syrup-soaked dessert.

I also offer printable versions of these recipes in my Etsy shop for those who want them separately, and they will be included in a future update of my cookbook.

Explore the recipes, try them at home, and enjoy a taste of traditional Greek cuisine!

October, the month of apples!

That's why I decided to present you today a recipe that was missing from my blog and that I like a lot: milopitakia!

Milopitakia, in greek, means mini apple pies but they are actually more kind of apple-filled cookies to be more precise.

Whatever you call them, I am sure that you will like them once you taste them, so here it goes in order to have them for real at your place :)

They look gorgeous too, no?

Koulourakia (Greek Easter Cookies)

๐ŸŒŸ Difficulty⏱️ Time๐Ÿฝ️ Serves๐Ÿ”ช Skill level
★★ Easy~1 hr~60–80Beginner–Intermediate
For Easter, in Greece, we make cookies that we call "koulourakia" and as Easter is approaching, find today the recipe that I like and I make together with my kids. It's so much fun for kids as they can use the dough as play-doh and use their creativity to shape the cookies. Even you will feel better after playing/doing these cookies :)
I will give you half of the dose that I made, as it makes so many cookies that fun will turn into torture otherwise :))))
